The Stimulus bill has been approved. There are only 180 days left to take advantage of this opportunity for bus rehabs and upgrades.Important FactsThe timeline for obligating funds is 180 days. The Grantee has no time limit to draw down funds as long as it remains for the original purpose of the grant. If grant request is subsequently modified in any way, they are subject to loss of funding. Note that much of the funding will flow through the States where each Governor has full discretion on where to allocate funds in communities of less than 200,000. At this time, your best source for up to the minute answers remains the Q&A section of the FTA website, click here. You can also contact your state DOT to gather additional details on their process. This bill will be signed by President Obama today, 2/17 in Denver. Once signed, the FTA will have 21 days to provide "guidance" to the States on the process for submission of grant requests.
